Today was the first day of our September PDC (Permaculture Design Certificate) course here at Maungaraeeda. We have another great group of people here and everyone is getting to know each other. As we are incorporating practical experiences as well, the days are very long. Today everyone gathered at 6am to start helping with the animal routines. Everyone is divided into groups and they all have morning and afternoon tasks to do. After an early morning smoothie of macadamia mylk, frozen bananas, sunflower seed and honey, everyone got underway (some needed their hot drinks to get started). Tom showed everyone how to light the rocket stove and then they headed off to the feed shed (I stayed in the kitchen to get the meals underway).
