One of our PDC students had her birthday with us yesterday. In the morning we heard all sorts of requests for her birthday cake: a compost cake, a manure cake, a kale cake, even a humanure cake! So we did some creative baking and decorating and came up with a Gluten Free Vegan Chocolate Mud cake, decorated with kale and with a big lump of poo-looking chocolate on top!  Continue reading

Although not made from homegrown ingredients, our dahl is so popular with the students, I thought I would post the recipe here. Also, lentils keep very well for a long time, providing it is stored in a air tight container and pests cannot get to it. This recipe can also be made with pigeon pea. Continue reading
